Speaking about the bursaries Mrs Tolerton said: “This annual bursary scheme offers financial support to talented young people from the Lisburn area who would like to further develop their skills in a variety of activities. The quality of entries this year was impressive and I hope that the six recipients will use this bursary to achieve their ambitions in a variety of disciplines from sport to music and art to community work.

“It is heartening to see and in partnership with Coca-Cola be able to recognise the commitment and effort of young people in the Lisburn area; and experience the sense of community that they have developed. I would encourage them to make the most of the opportunities presented to them.”

Ailish added: “As a local company, Coca-Cola HBC Northern Ireland is committed to genuine investment in community initiatives and it is our great pleasure to again support the Lisburn City Council Bursary Awards, which focuses on young people. Congratulations to all those who were awarded bursaries and I wish you all every success in your future endeavours.”

Through this scheme, the Council and Coca-Cola hope to support life-changing opportunities for the young people of the City. Young people are the future of Lisburn and to be able to support them as they pursue their ambition and strive to become the best in the sport they play, and the community they work for is fantastic.
