Young stars shine at The Mill

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council welcomed staff, pupils and parents to the venue for the ‘All Performance Musical’, which displayed the amazing skills and enthusiasm of the young people involved.

The performance also marked the pending retirement of Mrs Anne Magee, who has worked at Jordanstown School for just under 40 years, including the past 10 as principal.

Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Cllr Thomas Hogg commented: “Each and every one of the pupils put on a fantastic show. It was evident that the staff and pupils at the school, as well as the technical team, had put a lot of work into the performance.

Jordanstown School has been offering specialist education to young people aged 4-19 who are deaf or visually impaired for over 150 years.

All staff in the school are trained and experienced in working with pupils who have a sensory impairment. All permanent teachers hold a specialist qualification in teaching pupils who are deaf or visually impaired.

Teaching the full curriculum from Foundation right through to and including GCSE level, Jordanstown offers a unique child-centred approach to communication and education.
