The volunteers at Solas were delighted to be able to offer their services to young people of Ballycastle...however they were in for a wonderful surprise when the trainees decided to return the favour in the way that they know best!

The young people held a Fundraising Open Day at Ballycastle Community Workshops on Leyland Road where they offered wash and blow dries, haircuts for men, nails all served with a cup of tea and cake by the young people.

The trainees designed a poster for the day and approached local businesses and shoppers to encourage them to attend. The day was really well attended with all donations going directly to Solas and it was a great success. They raised a grand total of £170!

So a big thank you to Jack, Lyndsay, Sorcha, Tierna, Lauren, Chloe and Chloe, Chyanne, Anne Marie, Madeline, Jacinta and everyone else who came along and donated so kindly to the cause. The money will go a long way towards delivering services supporting emotional health and wellbeing, tacking social isolation in Ballycastle. Solas Moyle is located at 62 ann Street Ballycastle. Open 10am-1pm each weekday except Thursday and run a range of courses and therapeutic services. We are staffed entirely by volunteers and everyone is welcomed.”
