Your chance to name zoo's latest couple

BELFAST Zoo have launched their latest competition to give someone the chance to name its two pygmy goats and win a once-in-a lifetime prize.

Belfast Zoo welcomed two new pygmy goat arrivals in time for Valentine’s Day; however, the adorable couple remain nameless.

The zoo is now inviting suggestions for the names of their goats, a male and a female, and the reasons behind the names.

Not only will the winning names be with the goats for life, the winner will get to spend an afternoon with a zoo keeper, experiencing life behind the scenes of the farm area at Belfast Zoo.

They will have an opportunity to get up close and even feed some of the animals, as well as winning a bronze adoption of their named pair! Entries must be received by Friday, March 19 at 3pm.

Zoo manager Mark Challis is looking forward to the competition, and to learning all the various name suggestions.

“This naming competition is a great opportunity for someone not only to name two of the zoo animals for life, but also to see behind the scenes of a key area here in the zoo,” he said.

“Our last naming competition was a great success, and I’m looking forward to the name suggestions for our new pygmy goat couple.”
