Coleraine Borough Council last night hosted a vigil to remember the start of World War One.

Hundreds attended, the special event in the town centre.

Many of those present brought along medals and memorabilia of family members who took part in the war.

The vigil was part of Coleraine Borough Council’s ‘C’ Our History Project - however it continues with a special exhibition in Coleraine Town Hall, until August 9.

Museum services are inviting readers to bring along any personal memorabilia items from 1914 that they would like to feature in the exhibition to Coleraine Town Hall.

The exhibition is designed to showcase how life was, back in Coleraine during 1914 and during World War One.

Coleraine Borough Council’s ‘C’ Our History Project will continue over the next four years. To find out more information, contact Communications in Coleraine Borough Council 028 70347042.
