Your say on the banks

THE banks have been very much in the spotlight of late with the 'Credit Crunch' becoming the recession and public money used to bail out private finance.

The 'MAIL' has been out and about getting your opinions and responses to the question do you trust the banks? And do you feel your bank over charges?

Laura Woods said: “I am perfectly happy with my bank, the Alliance and Leicester and I have had no problem with them.”

Vivien Abernethy took a slightly different view: “I think they do over charge, but in fairness they always refund if they have made a mistake, my husband got a refund yesterday.”

Joe Rooney was another relatively happy customer: “I have been over charged a couple of times, once was my own fault but they haven’t been too bad and they are fairly helpful at the counter. They have a good selection of things that you can do with your money like invest which I have done.”

B Toman said: “ I have had no problem with them I trust them. “

Paul, who didn't want to give his surname or pose for the camera, said: “They could do more for you, but I suppose they have to make a living. All banks over charge there is no leeway with them they are too tight.”

Patricia Mulholland advised keeping an eye: “You would still check your statements wouldn’t you, but I am happy with the service.”

Kieran Cavanagh was somewhat resigned: “ I have no opinion there is no point in doing anything else.”

Joanne said: "If I take money out abroad I am charged and if I buy something in dollars online I am charged which I don’t agree with, I think they are all putting in fees were they shouldn’t.”

Tina said: “Of course they over charge, but I have had no bad dealings and I’m happy with the service.”
