Youth Club to open in Portstewart

FOLLOWING the success of Portstewart Vision’s Midweek Soccer event earlier in the year the Community Forum is to launch a new Youth Group in the town later this month.

Catering for young people from the town in both the 8-11 and 12-18 age groups, ‘Portstewart Young Vision’ will meet weekly at the Warren Pavilion at the town’s Old Coach Road.

Parents are advised that enrolment is to take place at the Warren from 7pm to 8pm on Tuesday, September 13. Numbers may have to be limited, so places will be offered on a first come first served basis. Annual enrolment fees are, £5/child or £10/family and thereafter £1/child per night.

Activities available during the coming months will include football, volleyball, tennis, putting, dance, arts and crafts, cookery and much more besides. The fun commences on Wednesday, September 21. The 8-11 age group will meet between 6:30pm -7:30 pm with the 12-18 age group meeting from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

This project has been funded by the Causeway Volunteer Centre with support from the Department for Social Development under the European year of Volunteering 2011 Small Grants for Volunteering Programme.
