Youth Forum launches Award

ENAGH Youth Forum hosted its first annual Valuing People Awards, in Strathfoyle Library on Monday, July 25.

While Enagh Youth Forum recognises the good work being done by the many community organisations working on the ground, this was billed as a prestigious event and an opportunity for the young people of Strathfoyle to pay tribute to those who have given so unselfishly to this community over many years.

The Valuing People Award recognises the often unseen commitment and total dedication by the people living in the Enagh ward to making a difference within their local community. The award looked for a commitment or contribution to others in areas including: community, education, family life, arts, sports and environment.

The idea for the The Enagh Youth Forum ‘Valuing People Awards’ came from local young people themselves and is a marvellous way of recognising and valuing the outstanding contribution that other people make to the life of the community and how we come to rely upon the skills, enthusiasm and drive of these often unseen and unrecognised heroes who make a real difference to community life locally.

This event will be an opportunity for the whole community to come together and to acknowledge the significant contribution made by all the nominees and thank them for unselfishly giving so much of themselves.

This project is funded by O2 Think Big and light refreshments will be provided on the night by Picnic in the Park.
