Youth Justice Agency calling for new volunteers

The Youth Justice Agency Ballymena Area Office - which covers Antrim, Ballymena, Ballymoney, Coleraine, Moyle, Larne and surrounding areas - are seeking to recruit new volunteers to support its work across the region.

The Agency will welcome applications from interested persons aged 18 or over, who can commit to two to three hours a week and are willing to work unsocial hours and weekends if necessary.

Volunteers can be from a range of backgrounds, disciplines, ages and interests and will fulfil a number of roles including supporting reparative activities, befriending or mentoring and helping young people to reintegrate back into their own communities.

All prospective volunteers will go through an interview, induction and training process before being formally registered as a Youth Justice Agency Volunteer.

The Youth Justice Agency aims to make communities safer by helping children to stop offending. The Agency works with children aged 10-17 years who have offended or are at serious risk of offending.

An information evening will be held at the Youth Justice Agency office, 7 Springwell Street, Ballymena, on Wednesday , September 9 from 6pm - 8pm.
