A group of youths assaulted the teenager close to a solicitor’s office at Broad Street around 4pm on March 8. The attack stopped following the intervention of a member of the public. It is also believed a large group of school pupils were in the area at the time.

Meanwhile, it has been reported to police that young school children were seen throwing muck and stones at a lorry travelling along the Tobermore Road on the way out of Maghera on the evening of March 12. This is dangerous and could cause the driver to lose control of his vehicle.
