Zumba enjoyed at Rasharkin

RASHARKIN Women’s Group held their Annual General Meeting on Friday April 20 in Rasharkin Community Centre where after the official business was complete Laura, who holds Zumba classes in Rasharkin and Dunloy, welcomed everyone who attended to join in a Zumba taster session.

Everyone in attendance agreed that it was very enjoyable and many are considering attending classes this incoming week.

Rasharkin Women’s Group are involved in a number of activities within the Village most notably the After Schools Club, Luncheon Club and a Health Project.

Caroline Carey, the out-going chair, started the evening by thanking everyone for coming along and used the opportunity to thank all the funders, support organisations, volunteers and staff.

Funders included Playboard, DHSSPS through the Community Development and Health Network (CDHN) and NACN.

Caroline said: “We are very grateful to all our funders, for the support given by Supporting Communities NI; Patrick Kennedy our local pharmacist; North Antrim Community Network and the time committed from all our volunteers”.

The new committee was nominated and elected as follows, Anne Hardy, Chairperson, Joan Belton, Secretary and Veronica McKinley, Treasurer.
