Seeley wins Brands Hatch race but McConnell takes series

Carrick’s Alastair Seeley claimed victory in the final race of the British Supersport campaign Brands Hatch but it wasn’t enough for him to clinch the 2014 title.

Billy McConnell’s eighth-place finish saw him win the series, four points ahead of Seeley.

Sunday’s race was a Carrick one-two as Glenn Irwin (inset) finished as runner-up to the ‘Wee Wizard’.

On Saturday, Irwin notched his fifth win of the season, taking top spot on the podium in the sprint race - pipping Seeley to the finish line.
