IT’S been a busy week for Dromore Ladies Hockey Club both with play and the social scene as September rolls to a close.

All the teams were out in force, junior training was taking place, the U11 and U13 were at a tournament at Lisnagarvey and the social outing to The Pheasant, Anahilt.

The First XI were playing Raphoe at Ferris Park, the Second XI against Randalstown and the Third XI against Grosvenor with the Fourths playing against Parkview.

The U11 and U13 were at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club for a tournament against Armagh,Lurgan and Banbridge. The weather looked doubtful but cleared to give blue skies and sunshine throughout the tournament after things got up and running.

The girls were full of enthusiasm and enjoyed getting the opportunity to play against other teams including the other Dromore teams as we fielded three teams in U11 and two teams in U13 and great to see the talent that is coming through the club. Thanks to all those parents who came to support and cheer us on.

On Saturday night the club was at The Pheasant, Anahilt for the Race Night which was great fun and a lot of laughs.

The club would like to thank all those who sponsored races - The Carson Trophy sponsored by Philip Gribbon, The Ferris Park Gold Cup sponsored by Alnwick Agencies, The Ashwood Kitchen Design Cup sponsored by Geoff Sturgeon, The Barban Hill Plaque sponsored by Clare McKinney Makeup and Beauty, The DHLC 2000m Sprint sponsored by Victoris Hell Bar, Belfast and The RetroShield sponsored by The Plough Inn, Hillsborough.
