Gangs of London

What is it?  A sort of modern-day Peaky Blinders, with elements of Succession and McMafia (but based on the 2006 video game of the same name), this explosive new drama tells of the international crime gangs running London’s underworld.

The action kicks off with the murder of the patriarch of the gang that’s been bossing the capital for 20 years, Finn Wallace (Colm Meaney) leaving a power vacuum in the world’s most cosmopolitan city.

Among those aiming to fill it is Finn’s son and heir, Sean (Joe Cole); directed by The Raid’s Gareth Evans.

But when an undercover sting goes horribly wrong, Major is gunned down on the job and killed.

That's not a spoiler - it happens early on - and the comedy comes from the duo attempting to remain at the top of their game, despite one of them being dead.
