There was praise from BBC journalist Victoria Derbyshire, among others, for Anna Maxwell-Martin, who plays DCS Patricia Carmichael
BRILLIANT acting from Anna Maxwell-Martin - jeez she was sinister, patronising, intimidating, clever, sarcastic. OUTSTANDING performances from Adrian Dunbar, @Vicky_McClure , @martin_compston . What a series @jed_mercurio #LineofDuty

What's next?
Line of Duty will return for a sixth season, with the BBC having commissioned another run prior to the fifth season's end.
However, the broadcaster has yet to indicate when series six might air, with fans potentially having to wait until spring 2021 if the show follows its traditional two year cycle.
