Two local young farmers have scooped the top awards at the Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster’s Annual General Meeting.

Victoria Currie from Kilraughts YFC was named as junior member of the year with Adam Alexander from Kilrea YFC taking the title of senior member of the year.

Member of the year awards go to individual members who have been dedicated to supporting and growing the YFCU.

The YFCU would like to thank all members who have taken up a club role and have devoted their time to the smooth running and development of their individual clubs.

In the results for top leaders, first place went to Richard Marshall, Clanabogan YFC, second place Richard Beattie, Finvoy YFC and third place Adam Alexander, Kilrea YFC.

Clarence Calderwood, United Feeds, said: “United Feeds are again pleased to support this prestigious competition within the YFCU competition calendar.

“It is great to see the enthusiasm of the members who were finalists in both the Junior and Senior categories and to hear how they and their clubs have adapted to the limitations imposed through the pandemic.

“The competition finalists are reflective of the resilient nature and optimism that has always been to the forefront in YFCU members.

“We would like to especially congratulate the worthy winners of each category and also commend all the finalists for their commitment to the organisation and wider communities.”
