Major investment: SPAR Whiteabbey wows shoppers with new-look community store

Shoppers in Whiteabbey and beyond have been taking a first look at the new-look SPAR Whiteabbey, which has reopened following an investment of over a quarter of a million pounds by local owners, Henderson Retail.
Store Manager, Wilson Pradez, says the team is so proud to bring exciting new products and services to their local community:“There is so much newness in-store that caters to local shopper missions, from additional fresh grocery products including Carrick’s Fergus Butchery range, to our new Delish hot food offering.”
The Fergus Butchery range sits alongside many fresh products sourced from local suppliers, including Asher’s Bakery. The butchery range offers pre-packed meat and value bundles made fresh daily for local shoppers, while shoppers can pick up a host of pre-prepared meals from SPAR’s own brand range.

Wilson continued: “We have improved our on-the-go experience with the Delish grab and go counter providing shoppers with a selection of self-serve hot baps and wraps for breakfast and Chicken Pick ‘n’ Mix for lunch. The Delish hot bar will serve hot meals throughout breakfast and lunchtime, and is complemented by the new Bakery range, offering freshly baked treats and breads daily.”
The store continues to offer Barista Bar coffee to go, with two self-serve machines in-store, recently upgraded to Barista Bar’s new menu which includes over 30 additions, oat milk as standard, decaffeinated options across espresso-based drinks, and trend-led products including Matcha and Chai.
The investment, which totaled £278,787, includes the addition of three self-check outs in-store, as well as the store’s Post Office.
Wilson added: “It is our mission to provide high-quality services and the best local products for our shoppers at SPAR Whiteabbey. Our store is a hub for the local community, where they come for great value, whether that be through our everyday products or our current 40 Big Deals of Christmas promotion which is running right up to December, or for our community spirit.
