2012 Cicli Sport Grand Prix

THIS Saturday 24th March sees East Tyrone Cycling Club promote the 2012 edition of the Cicli Sport Grand Prix at the Springhill - Tamlaght - Loup circuit. This event has a long list of illustrious winners including professional cyclists Sean Downey who races all over Europe and Ireland’s current top Track rider and Olympic hopeful, Martyn Irvine to name but a few.

This year there will be five events on offer. These include a 36 mile “B” Race for A4 category riders, a 54 mile “A” Race for Junior, Vet, A3, A2, A1 and A* category riders and a 27 mile Masters event for over 50’s and Women. There are also two underage events, namely an 18 mile Under 14 race and a 27 mile Under 16 race. The underage events will start at 10.30am with sign on from 9.30am and the senior events will commence at 12 noon with sign on from 11.00am.

The “A” race and “B” race are now closed for entries but there are still place available in the U14, U16 and Masters events. Anyone wishing to compete in these events can sign on on the day with entry costing £10 for seniors and £5 for underage riders.

Race HQ will once again be at the Loup GAC, which is situated 500 yards from the crossroads in the Loup in the direction of Ballyronan.

All marshals and drivers are asked to meet at race HQ at 10am
