A double header on the cards for kart racing fans

Kart racing fans are in for a double header dose of the sport this Saturday (7 April) at Nutts Corner Circuit, Dundrod, when the Ulster Karting Club hosts a double header round of the Ulster and Northern Ireland championships.

The action of recent races at the circuit gives an idea of the strength of the local talent and locals will be hoping for a strong result on Saturday especially with points from heats also counting towards both championships.

The Old Mill Motors of Crumlin supported Junior Honda class will see Coleraine’s Conor McKeown all out to build on his third last time out. Although Conor is a newcomer he shows great promise for the year ahead.

The Heather Laffin supported Pro-karts class has plenty of strong local contention and last time out Coleraine’s Martin Culbertson took a well deserved top ten to give his early championship points a good boost.

In the fastest non gearbox class for the Kart Shop supported 125 Rotax Max machines, Portstewart’s Andrew Lynch has had one of his best starts to a season and last time out Andrew took a terrific third to put himself right in the championship contention.

Ballymoney’s Dean Gray is also on pace at present and a sixth last time out shows his top five potential.

Racing this Saturday gets underway with the first of three heats starting at 10am wit the finals in mid afternoon.
