After another good midweek result in Private Greens Senior 2, Hilden received a setback when they failed to register in a 20 shots home defeat by Ballywalter.

Three threes helped Colin Montgomery to a 13-11 lead at 12 ends but Ballywalter came back to win by two shots.

A three at seven ends, but Raymond Gourley was 7-9 down at the tenth and lost by six shots.

A three at 12 ends gave Maurice Kirkwood an 11-7 lead but Hilden lost by four shots.

At 12 ends Jonathan McMullan was 12-4 ahead but he only added two shots to lose by eight shots.

Hilden picked up another six points on Tuesday night when they beat fellow strugglers, Belmont Park in Private Greens Senior 2.

They took six points with wins for Maurice Kirkwood, Jonathan McMullan and Colin Montgomery with Raymond Gourley the only loser.

The result moved Hilden that little bit closer to survival at this level with Belmont Park, one of the strugglers, now eight points behind Hilden.

Hilden B took two points at Belmont Park on Tuesday night but their Saturday Private Greens Junior 2 game at Cavehill was switched to Tuesday night.
