A week to remember for Matthew

Matthew made the trip to New Delhi to take part in the Commonwealth Shooting Federation Championships, scooping a bronze medal to add to his ever-growing collection.

Matthew came away with a score of 593-38x in the 50m rifle prone category. However, the 19-year-old must now wait to learn if he has done enough to secure a place in the Commonwealth Games, which take place in the vibrant city of New Delhi in October.

It has been a memorable week for Matthew, who has also been crowned Sports Performer of the Year 2009 at the borough sports awards. Unfortunately, Matthew’s trip to India meant he was not available to lift the award in person.
