Aaron called up to Armagh panel

St. Peter’s highly rated midfielder Aaron Findon has been drafted into Paul Grimley’s Armagh panel ahead of the Doctor McKenna Cup campaign which starts in the first week of January.

The Whites man, who featured for the county minors and under 21s had been in impressive form in 2013, speaking about the player Grimley said, “Aaron Findon has been impressive in the sessions he has attended. He is one of a number of young players we have brought into the panel.

“The emphasis will be on youth Kieran McGeeney and I can bring a measure of progression, that can only be a good thing for the County.”

Next season Armagh will play in the Second Division and would appear to have a tough task ahead of them, but while no doubt looking to push for promotion the main focus will be on the visit of Cavan to the Athletic Grounds on Sunday July 6th according to the County boss.

“Ideally we would love to have a good league campaign, but the main goal is the Cavan game in the first round of the Championship. We have a lot to prove particularly after last seasons showing in Breffni Park.”

St. Paul’s highly impressive Phelim O’Neill is another player who has been introduced to Paul Grimley’s squad, Crossmaglen’s Kyle Carragher and Paul Hughes are also in as well as Annaghmore pair Oisin and Ciaran MacIomhair. Goalkeeper Mathew McNeice has also got the nod while former county minor is one of six keepers on the training squad, Maghery’s Kevin Nugent has been called up along with Cullyhanna’s Robbie Tasker.
