Academy celebrate successful season

Banbridge Academy Boys Hockey celebrated the end of the hugely successful season at their awards night, hosted by first team sponsors Sinton's at the Bridge.

They ended the term with both the Irish Schools’ and Burney Cup titles - and that was just the first team.

Jake Rowe was deservedly named the senior team’s Player of the Season - not least for his hat-trick in the Irish final.

Charlie Norris was the first team’s most improved while Jake Rowe also bagged the Senior Hotshot award.

The Oxford Cup, donated by Mr Jess and Mr Malden in 2010, was awarded to Louis and Charlie Rowe (U12&13 Team).

The Mid Ulster Award for Outstanding effort in a final was awarded to Lewis Groves (U13 Bannister Final Performance).

The Junior Hotshot Award went to Edward Rowe (U13&U15)

A total of £212.50 was raised by the players/staff donations for CLIC Sargent and the Heads and Tails Game (Sponsored by Total Hockey) was won by Orin Shimmons (U15).
