The player that played the best and who was a team player was Mark Cowan.

The Academy’s U13 team then entertained Grosvenor with captain Matthew Anderson confident that his team would use home advantage to secure a win.

However, after a shaky start, Banbridge found themselves 1-0 down as a defensive mix up left Grovener with a chance to score.

This shook the Academy team into action and they started to play some fine interchanges. Defender Jack Hamilton played some passes down the line to Matthew Anderson hitting the ball up to Lewi. He in turn fed young Mark Cowan who managed to score another goal with a reverse shot.

This gave the team more confidence with the defence now tight and controlled and gave the midfielders more time and chances for the ball.

Both Anderson and McConnell were finding perfect passes to the forwards. Not even two minutes into the second half and ban have a chance with a penalty flick as Luke McConnell scores for his first goal of the season. Centre-back Edward Rowe was rewarded for his defensive work with his second goal of the season with a rebound from a short corner.

The man of the match was Lewis Groves by far. He worked to the best of his abilities with some good runs, skills and assists.
