Alexander wins again in the Lost World 25k

THE Lost World 25k multi-terrain race, was part of a multi distance event organised by 26 Extreme, and it took place on the Causeway Coast route on Saturday.

Sperrin Harriers Karen Alexander led from the off and completed the distance in 1 hr 53 mins, finishing 7 mins ahead of the 2nd and 3rd place finishers.

Northwest 10k (Letterkenny)

Paul Strain took part in this event on Sunday and finished in a time of 41.41.

Harriers 5 Mile time trial

On Wednesday (May 8) there will be a 5 mile time trial in Magherafelt, all members wishing to take part should be at Meadowbank track for 7.30pm. The route will be the same as the Magherafelt Classic race event that took place recently.

Stunnerz In Runnerz

This will be the second year running of the very successful ‘LADIES ONLY STUNNERZ IN RUNNERZ’ sponsored by JK Coaches. This event is due to take place on Saturday 15th June 2013 at Meadowbank Sports Arena Magherafelt at 12pm. This event covers a distance of 5 miles and gives all Ladies a choice to Walk, Jog or Race.

This is certain once again to be a fun filled ‘ girly day out’, the day will include a D.J. playing all your favourite tunes and also a dance warm-up to get you motivated at the start line, first 200 entrants will receive a ‘Stunnerz in Runnerz’ t.shirt and a girly goody bag.

Training

Harriers continue to train in Magherafelt at Meadow Bank Sports Arena on a Monday at 6.45pm, and a Wednesday at 7.30pm.

Cookstown training takes place at Loughry College on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 6.30pm.

Beginners and new members are welcome, as we cater for all abilities.
