All bets are off... again!

BETTING on Glenavon's latest match - last Friday evening's 2-1 defeat to Newry City - was reported to have been suspended prior to kick-off.

Bookies are said to have withdrawn odds for the match at the Newry Showgrounds after substantial amounts were put on the game. However, Premier League secretary Craig Stanfield has received no reports of irregular betting patterns and until confirmation on the rumours is given, Glenavon were unwilling to comment.

The rumours are the latest in a series of betting scandals to surround the club after defeats to Lisburn Distillery and Dungannon Swifts were both called into question last season.
