All change at Faughan Valley

FAUGHAN VALLEY Golf Club held its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, at the Dupont Club.

Club president Mr John Hew Cleghorn welcomed all those who attended and thanked the club members for their support during the year. John then called on Mr Don O’Doherty to take up the position of club president.

Captain Marty McGlynn then also thanked the members for their support in 2009 and handed over captaincy of the club to the new Captain Mr Trevor Lewers, Trevor thanked Marty for inviting him to be the club captain for 2010. Trevor then selected

Mr. David J Logue as his club vice-captain.

The election of the club officials then took place with the following members proposed to council and committee appointments - Council

President - Mr Don O’Doherty; Captain - Mr Trevor Lewers; Vice Captain - Mr David J Logue; Honorary Secretary - Mr Trevor Peace; Honorary Treasurer - Mr William O’Brien; Competition Secretary - Mr Gregory McGlinchey and Handicap Convenor - Mr Marty McGlynn.

Committee - Mr Ernie Parkhill, Mr Eddie McColgan, Mr Barry Reilly, Mr Damien Boyle, Mr Jimmy Duffy, Mr Raymond Totton, Mr Alan Cheung, Mr Robbie Curry, Mr Cecil King and Mr Sean McNicholl.

Captain Trevor Lewers informed all members that the first Club qualifying competition for the 2010 season would be the St Patrick’s Day open on Wednesday, March 17.

All members are reminded that GUI membership is now up for renewal. The meeting ended with the captain wishing all members of the Club a successful and enjoyable years golf.
