Preparing to swing in behind the tournament, Jeff Tosh, Sales Director for Tennent’s NI, said, “This has been already proved to be an amazing summer of sport for Northern Ireland and we’re not done yet! Following hot on the heels of incredible football we’re now looking forward to incredible golf: Summer sport doesn’t get much better, or more exciting, than this!

“As always, we’re delighted to have Tennent’s NI and its portfolio of brands at the heart of the action. Our world class portfolio is a perfect match for the world-class golf which will be delighting the crowds at the NI Open and we are thrilled to be giving our support to the great team who are staging this fantastic event, bringing global golf to Northern Ireland.

“We’re optimistic that the sun will be shining throughout the tournament on the stunning grounds of Galgorm Castle but, whatever the weather, we’ll be pouring! We’ll be featuring some of Northern Ireland’s major players: Tennent’s Lager, Magners Original Irish Cider, Heverlee and Roundstone Irish Ale and, together, we’ll be raising a toast not only to great golf, but also to the Ulster Bank Food Festival which is putting great local tastes centre-stage, a fantastic addition to the NI Year of Food & Drink.”

Welcoming Tennent’s NI on board, Ross Oliver, Event Manager of the NI Open said, “We’re delighted to have secured the support of Tennent’s NI again for the 2016 Tayto Northern Ireland Open in partnership with Ulster Bank. Tens of thousands of spectators will be equally pleased, I am sure, because, as golf fans will testify, watching their favourite sport can be thirsty and congenial work. Tennent’s, Magners, Heverlee and Roundstone will go down very well in the 19th hole, and to help people enjoy their day to the full we’ve organised a free bus shuttle service from Ballymena bus and rail station, supported by event partner Translink.

“Tennent’s NI joins an ‘A List’ of corporate supporters whose support is essential to our success. It is thanks to their investment and confidence that we are able to stage an event of international calibre and reputation featuring big names like Michael Hoey, Damien McGrane and Peter Lawrie, as well as up and coming stars Chris Selfridge, Ruaidhri McGee and Cormac Sharvin”.
