Alpha Avators on top in the league

Alpha Avators who made such an impressive start to lift the inaugural Adidas All Stars Juvenile League continued to dominate the latest series of matches and lead the Team Championship Table three points adrift of Alpha Devils in second place with the Alpha Barbarians in third some five points behind the leaders.

Not surprisingly the Avators also find themselves on top of the Girls Singles (Hannah Brennan), Girls Doubles (Hannah and Rachel McCullough) and the Mixed Doubles tables (David Martelli and Rachel McCullough).

After recording a 5-0 whitewash over Coleraine Smasher A, the Avators dropped one match to Alpha Cadets when captain Peter Murphy was beaten by Che Smyth 20-21 21-12 21-20 in a real nail-biting finish in the boys singles.

The Barbarians defeated the Cadets 5-0 and the Devils 3-2 and top the Boys Singles table with captain Matthew Hamill recording wins over both Cadets Che Smyth 21-19 19-21 21-18 and Devils Joel Murphy 21-6 21-13.

While Coleraine Smasher A may be languishing in bottom place for example in the Girls Singles table their boys doubles partnerships of Edwin Guan and Rhyan Webba da Silva is keeping them at the top of their table ahead of Banbridge Black Bears and the Avators.

In Division Two Alpha Fighters are being pushed all the way by Coleraine Smasher B.

The Fighters are enjoying being on top of the Team Championship, Boys Singles, Boys Doubles and Mixed Doubles tables.

The crunch tie of the afternoon saw the Alpha Fighters record a crucial 3-2 victory with captain Ross Treacy a 21-11 21-20 victor over his opposite number in the Coleraine side Adam Abernethy, while the mixed doubles proved to be the decider with Peter Hemphill and Olivia Agnew seeing the Alpha Fighters through against Jordan Atkinson and Orla Tracey 21-18 in the deciding set.
