Having battled their way through to the quarter-final with a three set win over top Danish pair Jan Peterson and Jesper Tolman, they still had a lot to do if they were to win the title.

Despite dropping the opening set against the seeded pair from England Donald Burden and Jim Teale, they booked their passage into the semis by winning the next two sets 21-13 21-17.

With Topping now based in Dublin, the former internationals had little time to prepare for the event.

However, they brushed past the top seeds Jon Austin and Mark Golds 21-12 21-16.

Having reached the final, Mark and Graham were never going to throw in the towel against their Indonesian opponents.

The pair were able to turn the clock back and lift the coveted title in England beating the No2 seeds Puryanto Tan and Suganyanto Hadi Wahono 21-17 21-14.
