The 25 year-old will be representing Ireland in the European Team Championships tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday.

Foster’s team have announced a 45 strong panel that is said to be the strongest Ireland side in recent years.

Ireland hosted the tournament in Dublin last year and claimed their highest ever finish of seventh place.

This weekend, they’re targetting a top five place and if they could sneak into the top three, they would gain promotion from the First League to next year’s Super League.

They’ll come up against Greece, Portugal, Finland, Belgium, Hungary, Slovenia, Belarus, Estonia, Lithuania, Norway and Romania.

Lisburn girl Amy reckons she’ll be in with a good chance of a strong finish to prepare for next month’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

She said: “The races will be a good standard this weekend but it won’t be ridiculously hard. Hopefully I’ll be in the mix to challenge. I just want to go out and run well.”
