An impressive start

TULLYGALLY began their Junior Cup campaign with an impressive 7-2 win on Saturday away to Belfast side Vision Athletic.

The Craigavon side were in front after 15 minutes through Daniel Ryan before Chris McDonald added a second.

Another Ryan goal and a McDonald penalty completed the scoring at half-time.

Tullygally continued to press and Barry McDonald made it 5-0 with a fine header from Bryan Mallon's corner. Daniel Ryan then completed his hat-trick with a speculative shot from 20 yards which the keeper allowed to slip through his hands.

With Tullygally in control they did take their foot of the gas and allowed the home side to add two goals rallied again and a Bryan Mallon pass gave Colin Grimley a tap-in to leave the final score 7-2.

This was a good performance from the Craigavon men but the fitness of the team looks like it needs to be raised a few per cent in order to maintain the standard of football they strive to achieve.
