Andy finishes 12th at XC MTB National Points Series

The event was hosted by Cunga Cycling Club a relatively new club on the Irish Cycling scene, only founded in 2011. The course was located in woodland that was once part of the Ashford Castle Estate, a former home to the Guinness family.
Over 200 competitors battled it out in very tough conditions, with heavy overnight rain adding to the excitement along the 6km course. After a good start the conditions started to take their toll with the build-up of mud causing gears to slip and making it impossible to clip into the pedals however once the race was over the smiles were back out on reflection of a tough day at the office and fun in the mud!
