Angling: Anglers are catching trout on Whitelough, but I'm not one of them

I would urge all anglers to read the list carefully because it could mean a big difference to what you may have to pay to fish lakes, rivers and reservoirs.

While most of the River Blackwater is controlled by angling clubs, it is worth remembering that DCAL control angling on the right bank for 2km upstream of Blackwatertown Bridge. I must admit that I had never known that before.

Meanwhile, I never ever thought that I would see the day on which more anglers would be fishing Whitelough than Brantry.

Over the Easter period, only a few anglers bothered to fish Brantry because trout fishing is so poor because roach stocks have overrun Brantry and the trout are feeding on the roach fry because there is no insect life in Brantry for the trout.

Anglers are catching trout on Whitelough, but I have to admit that I am not one of them!
