Julie Gerry from Co Kildare, chairman of the Irish Ladies Flyfishing Association said: “We are extremely grateful to Darren and his team at Woodford Fishery for volunteering to host this fundraiser for us.

“It is a lovely fishery with the chance of great fish. I always look forward to visiting Woodford because there is always a warm welcome both from the regular anglers and from the pot of streaming hot soup that’s regularly on offer.”

The Irish Ladies Flyfishing Association will be holding their first trial of the 2012 season on Lough Leane (Collinstown, Co Westmeath) on Sunday, March 18 in order to complete the selection for the 2012 team. Anyone interested should contact [email protected]
