Another title for judo starlet Cerys

She has been crowned North West Open, Northern Ireland Open, and Northern Ireland Closed champion. Cerys will again be competing in June at the Northern Ireland Schools Cup.

In producing these remarkable results, Cerys has competed in over 15 bouts, eliminating each of her opponents - the cream of Northern Ireland judo. She also saw off the best of Ireland and the UK in the Northern Ireland Open which in effect is classified as an international as it is open to all countries worldwide.

Coach Alan Ashcroft said, “Cerys has settled well into training this year and she does her talking on the mat. Expect to hear a lot more in the future about this young girl as she has the will and tenacity to go places in this sport.”
