Armagh duo win Annahilt Pairs

A pair from Armagh Golf Club won the Annahilt Parish Open Pairs Tournament on Saturday night.

Robert and George Coulter beat Pat McShane and Brendan Maginnis Clontibret in the final at the end of a very successful event.

The club received sponsorship from Bobby Morrison, funeral director, Lisburn, Douglas, funeral directot, Ballynahinch; James Finlay; Jeffers Home Bakery; Lagan Oils, Lisburn; Harmoney Electrical Systems and Young Family Butchers, Lisburn.

The duo beat Pat McShane and Brendan Maginnis in a hard-fought final to claim the 2014 title.

Group winners were Stephen Hedley Ballywalter, Shane Magennis Clontiberet, M. McMaster Ahoghill, Robert Hunter Ballywalter, David McCandless Holm Park, Brendan Maginnis Clontiberet, George Coulter Armagh Golf Club and Tom Haire/Nathan Haire Hillsborough Social.

Quarter finals: eliminated: Davy Hamilton/Davy McCandless, K. Hedley/Robert Hunter, Tom and Nathan Haire, Paddy McIlvaney/ Shane Magennis

Semi-finals: eliminated: Graham Byrne/ Stephen Hedley, Thomas and Richard McMaster.

St John’s Moira singles

The St John’s Moira Open Singles Tournament for the RJ Allan Perpetual Challenge Cup starts on Tuesday 22 April.

The event continues on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of that week with the finals on Saturday 26 April.

Entry fee is £3 and entries close on Tuesday 15 April.

Lisnagarvey Ladies Bowling Club invite you to Have a Go” at outdoor bowls at their Open Days on Monday 14 April 6-8pm, Tuesday 15 April 2-4pm and Wednesday 16 April 2-4pm at Sir Milne Barbour Park Warren Gardens.

Bowls and refreshments will be provided but please wear flat shoes. There is ample car-parking facilities available.
