Armagh seekrevenge win

Armagh's Stefan Forker moves in on Tyrone's Peter Harte in the recent clash between the sides.

It will be the second time the sides have met inside a month, on the previous occasion in the group stages 19 cards were issued which included red for Armagh skipper Ciaran McKeever and Tyrone’s Colm Cavanagh who will both miss the game through suspension.

Heated scenes were witnessed on the last two occasions when the sides met including last seasons Ulster Championship encounter played at Healey Park.

Ulster Council officials will be keeping a close eye on events at the Athletic Grounds tonight which is a prelude for a potential meeting of the two sides in this season’s Ulster Championship should Tyrone defeat Donegal in the Provincial opener.

When the teams last met Kieran McGeeney’s side lost by two points and finished the game with just 12 men following the dismissal of McKeever, Aaron Findon and Finian Moriarty.

This semi-final will provide Armagh with the opportunity to dethrone the McKenna Cup holders who are biding for their four title in a row.

Mickey Harte’s team qualified for the last four with a hard fought win over Antrim last Sunday and Armagh’s participation in the last four was as a result of finishing the best runner-up from the three participating groups.
