Armagh TV to screen home games

ARMAGH fans can look forward to watching five of their seven national league Division 2 games live on TV over the forthcoming months.

Setanta Ireland will be showing the county’s game against Longford at the Athletic Grounds on March 2 and they will also be going out live from Celtic Park in Derry when Paul Grimley’s side make the trip to face the Oak Leaf County on March 9.

Supporters can also watch live coverage of all of the county’s home games this season on the newly launched Armagh TV which has been a big hit both at home and abroad. The new online product this week showed the draws being made for the Armagh Club Championships with special guests Benny Tierney, Joe Kernan and Jarlath Burns in attendance.

The first game shown live this season by Armagh TV was the tie against Cavan in the McKenna Cup with commentary coming from Portadown man Brendan McCann a former Armagh PRO who was assisted on the night by county player Aaron Kernan. Many messages have come back to the county praising the live interviews and player profiles which have provided supporters overseas with a chance to keep up to date with events back home. While there is no indication that attendances have dropped considering that games can now be viewed from the comfort of an armchair it has been gathered that the Armagh County board has no plans to charge supporters for live streaming of matches.
