ATHLETICS: Athletes shine at NI Primary Schools Cross Country League

Young Londonderry athletes topped the table at the recent final of the Flahavan's Porridge Athletics Northern Ireland Primary School Cross Country League.

Oisin Colhoun from St. Patrick’s Primary School finished first in the boy’s race, with the St Patrick’s Primary School’s boys’ team placing second in the boys’ team race. The girls’ team from Broadbridge PS were placed third in the girls’ team race.

The League, which is committed to encouraging young people to have an active and healthy lifestyle was launched last year by reigning NI Cross Country Champion Declan Reed and attracts 5,200 young athletes across three rounds.

Following the final the top 20 girls and boys will be invited to join the Flahavan’s Porridge Athletics NI Junior Cross Country Squad.
