Saturday's freezing temperatures did not deter eleven members of County Antrim Harriers joining over 700 others to compete in the sixth race in the '˜Run Forest Run' trail series at the Mount Stewart Estate.

The 10k started at the front of the estate house, before taking runners on a challenging looped course, along the roads and trails around the estate, to finish back where they started.

Lyn Hardie, running strongly, was first home for the club (51:20), followed closely by Raymond Hilman (54:01). Next, giving gutsy performances, were Marian Hayes (59:08), Talitha Collins (59:55), Shelley Boyle (1:00:53) and Kim Gleave (1:03:43).

On Saturday, Christine Murray competed in the senior ladies’ 5.6k race at the annual IAAF Antrim International XC staged at Greenmount. Christine was delighted to finish the muddy course in 26:28 (3rd F45).
