Five Harriers took part in the fourth and final race of the East Antrim Harriers Trail series in Woodburn Forest.

All ran strongly over the challenging 4.2-mile course, with on-form Natasha Henderson leading the Harriers home in 30:54 (2FO), followed closely by Graeme O’Hara (32:24), Claire Oliphant (37:43), Jane Kinnear (39:27) and Erin Montgomery (40:00).

Christine Murray produced a gutsy performance at the annual Loughinisland 5.05-mile Road Race last Wednesday, finishing in 38:31 to claim the FV45 age group prize.

At Saturday’s popular Comber Potato 10k, hosted by Ballydrain Harriers, six Harriers, joined almost 500 others to race the flat, fast course.

Undeterred by the heavy downpours, everyone dug deep, and a club first was achieved by Russell Hughes who completed the course pushing a double buggy!

Special mention to Brian McFall and Tanya Smith, recent Couch To 5k graduates, making an impressive club debut by tackling the distance for the first time; and to Natasha Henderson who achieved a well-deserved personal best.

Results: Russell Hughes (40:18); Natasha Henderson (44:21 PB); Carol Annesley (51:40); Ricky Mason (60:58); Brian McFall (63:46); and Tanya Smith (63:50).
