ATHLETICS: Indoor championships this weekend
No rain and mud this weekend as the NI&Ulster Indoor Under Age championships will bring several hundred young athletes to the Meadowbank Arena in Magherafelt for the two day spectacular for the U12's through to the U19's.
Clubs from all nine counties will be in attendance with local club’s well represented in the battle for Provincial honours and for the podium placers a ticket to the National finals in Athlone the icing on the cake.
The action kicks off at 10am on both Saturday and Sunday with the 60m, 300m, 400m, 600m and 800m, plus most of the Relays, set for Saturday and on Sunday the 60m Hurdles, 200m, 1500m, Walks and the rest of the Relays will constitute the Track action.
The Field events will be spread over both days in what will be a very comprehensive programme operating on a tight schedule with several hours of exciting competition anticipated.
