ATHLETICS: Larne AC's Neill claims fourth spot at Ballyboley race

Larne Athletic Club had its largest turnout so far this year in the East Antrim Harriers' Summer Trail Series with 25 runners putting their best foot forward.

The race, which took place in warm conditions over a 4.1-mile course around Ballyboley Forest, was the third in the series.

John Neill finished first for the club continuing his great form in the series with an excellent 4th place overall and a second in M35 category (24:21). Bernard Brady, competing in his first race of this series, came in eigth overall and first in the M50 category with a brilliant time of 24:55.

Next in for the club was David Noble in 16th place with a time of 26:13. He was followed by Nigel Kane 22nd overall and second in the M45 category with another great time of 26:31. Martan Keane was just two seconds behind in 26:33, to claim 23rd place overall. Martan had cycled over 176 km in the Grand Fondo on Sunday.

Patricia Blair, continuing her great form in the series, was first Larne AC lady home in a time of 27:00, 31st overall and first in F35 category.

Dan Magill was the next Larne AC member over the line in 62nd (29:59), followed by Stuart Baxter 71st 31:05, closely followed by Charlie Meban (73rd overall) who won the M65 category with a time of 31:11.
