On Saturday, Christine Murray and Helen Baird braved the snow and ice to run in the Dungiven 10k, hosted by St Patrick’s College.

The course and conditions were demanding but the ladies ran well. Murray finished in 46:34 to claim a well-deserved podium place (2nd female overall), while Baird ran strongly to finish in 52:46.

Always up for a challenge, and a new race in a new place, six Harriers, along with over 280 others, took part in the inaugural Cultra 10k on Sunday.

All the Harriers performed well with the in-form Graeme O’Hara first home in 51:00; quickly followed by Louise Smart in 53:38.

Next to finish, despite being misdirected, was Rachel Lloyd in 1:01:51. Marion Morrow and Eileen Stewart had great runs, finishing in 1:10:34 and 1:13:10 to claim first place in their respective age groups. Tony Barclay also ran well (1:15:20) and enjoyed the event.
