ATHLETICS: Podium finish for Maxwell
MOST of Larne Athletic Club’s athletes took a well-earned break last weekend, but two hardy souls laced up their footwear to participate over different terrains.
Justin Maxwell travelled to Drum Manor Forest Park just outside Cookstown on Saturday for the third race in the Sperrin Harriers Winter League Trail Series. He performed to his usual high standard, covering the undulating 10km course in 36:24 and it was enough to secure a third-place finish.
Meanwhile in Dromore, ever-improving David Noble produced another notable performance in the Dromore AC-promoted annual Cross Country event. He just missed out on a top-10 finish in the senior men’s 8km race, but settled for an excellent 11th-place finish after clocking 41:31.
