ATHLETICS: Top displays from Lough and Hogg at junior parkrun

Jack Lough and Bradie Hogg were in top form at Sunday's Larne Junior parkrun. The pair were first to finish in their respective categories at the popular weekly two-mile event.

Male placings: Jack Lough (JM11-14) (Unattached) was first over the line in 07:31 - his third time in four appearances. Josh Montgomery (JM11-14) of North Belfast Harriers, was second (4th overall) in 08:14, and Dallan Bell (JM10) of East Coast AC was third (6th overall) in 09:04.

Female placings: Bradie Hogg (JW11-14) of East Coast Athletic Club, was first (second overall) over the line in 07:52 - her 12th time in 15 appearances. Next home was Kelly Patterson (JW11-14) of East Coast AC (third overall) who timed 08:09. Kelly has been first to finish on three previous occasions. Keeva Bell (JW11-14) of East Coast AC, was third home (fifth overall) in a time of 08:43.

This week there were 50 runners, of whom six were first-timers. Thirteen recorded new personal bests. Representatives of four different athletics clubs took part.

Larne Juniors parkrun started in November 2015, and since then 231 different runners, including participants from eight athletics clubs have completed 1,309 runs covering a total distance of 2,618 km. There have been 347 new personal bests.

The female record is held by Eimear McBrien who ran in a time of 00:07:30 March 20.

The male record is held by Connor McRandal who clocked 00:07:19 on March 13. The Age Grade course record is held by Bradie Hogg who recorded a 78.75% run (07:39) on March 13.

At Saturday’s Larne parkrun, the top four finishers were made of of Larne AC members. Martin Agnew claimed topped spot in a time of 19:19. He was followed by James Topping (19:58) in second and Paul Tilson (20:23) in third. Nigel Kane took fourth spot in 20:52.
