Back to league action at the weekend

IT'S back to the Ladbrokes.com Championship this weekend for the Roesiders as they entertain Ballinamallard United.

It has also been a stop start season so far for Ballinamallard as they have struggled to find their best form.

They defeated Champions Loughgall at Lakeview Park but then lost at home to lowly Ballymoney United.

The men from Fermanagh are currently three places below Limavady who are currently lying fifth.

The Mallards have scored just ten league goals in their opening seven league games and conceding eight.

Their last game ended in the three one win against Ards but they had lost their previous two league games.

Ballinamallard knocked Limavady out of last season Co-operative Cup one nil over two legs but the Roe men won both league encounters.

Limavady are slowly getting back to their best form and their performances in their last two games certainly suggest this. Going into the game United supremo Oran Kearney knows exactly what to expect from the visitors.

"They gave us a few tough games last season and I expect it to be no different this time round," he said.

"They will be well organised and I'm sure they would fancy their chances after turning us over in the Co-op last season.

"We battered them that night but couldn't put the ball in the back of the net and we were punished for it.

"That said it's about how we play and we won't be worrying about how they are going to play.

"I'm only concerned about how we are performing and in recent weeks we have been playing much better.

"Last weekend against Ballyclare was good and if we can find that level of performance again then I confident of winning," concluded Kearney.Going into the game Gareth McConaghie will return to the squad after serving his two match ban.

It is hoped that Chris Rodden will also have recovered from an injury he picked up against Moyola Park that meant he missed the last two games.
