Ballinderry lead at halfway stage

KILLANEY 19 (0) BALLINDERRY 55 (7) Ballinderry took seven points away to Killaney, winning by 36 shots and they have opened up a 10.5 points at the top with Soldierstown in second place even though they lost at Annahilt Parish.

Hillsborough Social are half-a-point further back at the halfway stage in the Ulster Star Indoor Bowling League Section A.

Sloan Street trail Hilden by 6.5 points down at the bottom with Priesthill Methodist four points better off in third from the bottom place.

Two threes gave Karen Ellison a 6-3 lead at the fourth but Stevie Mulholland lifted a three and a single to lead 11-7 with an end left when St Mark's added a single.

Neil Mulholland started with one, four and Viv Wigton was 3-5 down at the sixth. St Joseph's finished with three doubles to win by eight shots.

At the fourth David Moore led 5-2 but Con Mulholland lifted a four at the sixth to go 8-5 up. St Mark's levelled with two, one but St Joseph's got a last end single to win by a shot.

Three at the third gave Connor Wilkinson a 6-0 lead and he was 7-2 ahead at the fifth but I. Robinson came back with three singles before a last end single gave St Joseph's a three shots win.

St Clare's B pushed St Colman's Lambeg all the way before losing by 4.5 shots and having to settle for two points in Section C of the Ulster Star Indoor Bowling League.

Four at the fourth gave Lawrence Long a 5-2 lead but a double at the seventh brought Sinead McKeag back to 5-7. St Colman's added a three and they won by four shots after St Clare's scored a last end single.

A seven helped Giles McCorry to a 9-0 lead at the third and after James Burns lifted two doubles St Clare's came back to lead 12-4 with two ends left when St Colman's lifted one and three.

Alex McVeigh started with four, one but Frank Agnew lifted two, one. At the seventh St Clare's led 9-3 and two doubles could only pull Lambeg back to a two shots defeat.

At the third Hugh Heffron led 4-3 but Gary McWilliams, who had started with a three added a six and a three to lead 14-4 at the seventh. St Clare's finished with two threes, but when quartered still lost by 6-5 shots.
