Ballinderry's record goes on but St Mark's and Annahilt go down

Ballinderry's unbelieveable record of 28 Lisburn League titles in the last 29 years goes on after Hillsborough Social's quest for 14 points from two games failed.

Hillsborough could only manage four points away to Eglantine and that result left Ballinderry, once again, champions.

At the other end of the table Annahilt Parish were already relegated and St Mark’s joined them after Eglantine lifted three points. The two relegated teams were promoted last season.

John Liggett has never skipped for Eglantine in the past, but he must be considered in the future after his win against Robert Sloan of Hillsborough Social set up the result Social did not want.

Liggett had a great individual game and he received great support from his rink. Robert Sloan was 4-2 ahead at the fifth and 5-3 at the seventh, but Liggett finished with one, two to win by a shot.

Nick Haire started with three, one and was 5-1 ahead at the fourth, but four at the seventh gave Vincent Bryans a 8-5 lead. Social levelled with a three hut Eglantine got the winner.

George McLernon started with a double and finished with a single, but in between Michael Beattie lifted a five and two threes to win by 14 shots.
